Well done for being the first to submit a draft of your first question. (will sort out adding a new label in lesson) The major weakness is that you haven't referenced enough research. In your booklet is a section on conventions of the thriller. I'd suggest you focus on this looking at: location, character types, costume, lighting etc. You reference your film quite well but your references to research are too vague. Think of the films you've watched that inspired your ideas, there may be elements from a number of films, for example the close up shots were inspired by........, the contemporary costume were inspired by........
At the moment my impression is mid Level 3. You need to provide evidence that you understand the conventions of the thriller genre then explain how you've used, developed or challenged them. The latter of course is the casting of a female as the possible killer!
You may wish to research "The Young Poisoner's Handbook" (1995) on IMDB a film This film is based on a true story about a British teenager who allegedly poisoned family, friends, and co-workers... .....
You are right when you say there a few thriller films about poisoners; the focus on action thrillers, CG'Is and gangster thrillers have rendered the bottle of poison idea rather redundant so well done for you taking on board this crime and relating it to contemporary characters who are as ordinary as soap opera characters or "Friends" thus the crime seems more heinous. Crime films are at their best when ordinary people are mixed up in extraordinary circumstances.
Do a bit of research on the film I've referenced at the beginning of my post. Keep comments about gender to Question 2. An interesting and enthusiastic response - Level 3 at the moment.
